Faith, in my own words

The good news, plainly

Before my story, here’s what matters most.

  1. Step 1: God is holy and loving

God is holy and just. He will not overlook sin. And God is love. He made us to know Him.

    “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts;
The whole earth is full of His glory!”

    Isaiah 6:3NKJV

“He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.”

    1 John 4:8NKJV
  2. Step 2: Sinners from birth

We are born in sin. We knew God, but we didn’t honor Him as God or thank Him. We’ve broken His law in every thought, word, and deed, both by what we’ve done and by what we’ve failed to do.

“Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity,
And in sin my mother conceived me.”

    Psalm 51:5NKJV

“Although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened.”

    Romans 1:21NKJV

“There is none who does good, no, not one.”

    Romans 3:12NKJV
  3. Step 3: Sin deserves judgment

Sin has to be paid for. Left to ourselves, we are hell-bound sinners with no way to save ourselves.

“The soul who sins shall die.”

    Ezekiel 18:4NKJV

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

    Romans 6:23NKJV

“He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.”

    John 3:36NKJV
  4. Step 4: Christ died in our place and rose again

Jesus Christ, God’s Son, never sinned. On the cross He took the punishment we deserved. That’s where God’s justice and His love meet. He was buried, and on the third day He rose again.

“For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.”

    2 Corinthians 5:21NKJV

“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

    Romans 5:8NKJV
  5. Step 5: Repent and believe

We repent and believe in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. That means turning from our sin and trusting Him alone to save us.

“The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel.”

    Mark 1:15NKJV

“that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”

    Romans 10:9NKJV
  6. Step 6: Saved by grace

Salvation is a free gift. We receive it by grace through faith, and nothing we do can earn it.

“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.”

    Ephesians 2:8-9NKJV

“There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.”

    Romans 8:1NKJV

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”

John 3:16NKJV

If you have questions about any of this, I’d be glad to talk.

Why this page exists

Servlead is named for servant leadership, the leadership Jesus modeled: lead by serving. He’s the perfect servant leader.

My mission is to represent Christ well in the marketplace. My faith isn’t a marketing angle. It’s how I work.

So here’s my story, short and plain.

How I came to Christ

I grew up in India in a Christian home. My parents both grew up Hindu, and each came to know the Lord through their own experience. My dad shared scripture with me when I sat, slept and went out.

From the outside I was a so-called “good” kid. Inwardly, I loved sin.

When I was 19, at a retreat, I decided to watch Holy Communion from a distance. The pastor wouldn’t even let me do that. He drove me away like a stray dog.

I was really mad at him. But honestly, that helped me seek the Lord more that evening.

That night I spent time with the Lord in an open field at the camp, crying out to Him to make me part of His fold. I repented of my sins and slept through the night there in the field. I had a dream where my burdens and sins were lifted away.

I had a peace I couldn’t explain. And the evidence of my salvation was that I hated sin for the first time in my life.

He has been faithful

Ever since, there have been lots of ups and downs. Christ brought me through it all.

I came to the US for my master’s. Then I lost a job. There were visa deadlines, and seasons when I didn’t know what tomorrow held. By God’s grace, the fear of the Lord kept me from looking for deceptive ways to stay, and my parents were always clear on that too. So, by His strength, I stood for truth and conscience, even when it looked like I’d be going home.

At every turn, God came to my rescue. Even when I was unfaithful, He was faithful.

I had my own struggles too, including lust. By God’s grace, I’m not struggling with it, and I’m overcoming it. If you ever want the longer story, I’m glad to share it one-on-one.

“My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.”

2 Corinthians 12:9

What I’d rather you see is the last 18 years of His work in me.

What drives me now

My goal is to live for Him, nothing else, and to represent Him well every day.

“If you have run with the footmen, and they have wearied you, Then how can you contend with horses?”

Jeremiah 12:5

To me, that means buckle up, run, and live for Him every day, in His strength, not mine. ❤️‍🔥

“Is there any god who can compare with our God? Then where is the diligence, the dedication, the determination of His people?”

Growing in Christ is co-laboring with Him. I’m set apart for Him, and He’s the one who sanctifies me. One day I’ll go to Him and spend eternity with Him.

Until then, I don’t have to worry about bills or the hustle. Christ meets all my needs. I can live free, like a bird, because God takes care of me.

“Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.”

Romans 8:37

How it shows up in my work

Servant leadership means being willing to get dirty and solve things, communicating clearly to anyone, and always being willing to serve and go the extra mile.

In my work, that looks like honest numbers. A straight answer, even when the answer isn’t me. No pressure. If you’re not a fit, I’ll tell you, kindly. And I lead by serving.

“And what does the Lord require of you But to do justly, To love mercy, And to walk humbly with your God?”

Micah 6:8

That’s the standard I hold myself to.

Are you truly in the faith?

“Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith.”

2 Corinthians 13:5NKJV

Following Christ isn’t signing up. It’s a call to die to self, take up your cross, and live surrendered to Him.

“If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.”

Luke 9:23NKJV

  • Have you believed?
  • Are you believing?
